For the 6th time in a row I have received the 2025 “Highly Cited Researcher” award. This recognition reflects the collaborative efforts of my colleagues and collaborators, and I am honored to be included in the 2025 list.

Using rigorous and continually refined selection criteria, the program identifies individuals whose contributions significantly shape global research and innovation. The evaluation process emphasizes research integrity and incorporates safeguards against hyper-prolific authorship, excessive self-citation, and anomalous publication or citation patterns, ensuring that awardees meet Clarivate’s standards
In 2025, 6,868 individuals from 60 countries were recognized, with Germany contributing 363 researchers, ranking fourth globally.
